Overview

Seaman Journey is a boutique first class catamaran that began sailing the Galápagos in 2008, with social areas completely refurbished in 2019. Her twin-hull design provides superior stability and comfort, making her an excellent choice for guests who prefer a smoother ride between islands. Sixteen guests are hosted in two upper-deck suites and six ocean-view cabins, all with private bathrooms and individual climate control. With al-fresco dining, two bars, a sun deck, a library, and complimentary kayaks, Seaman Journey balances adventure and relaxation. Choose from three itineraries — a 5-day northern route, a 5-day southern route, or a 7-day western expedition — each led by a certified bilingual naturalist guide. Crew members speak English and German.

Day 1Thursday
Baltra & Bartolome — Pinnacle Rock

Arrive at Baltra Airport and board the Seaman Journey. Navigate to Bartolome Island to climb the boardwalk past volcanic cones to the summit for the most iconic panorama in the Galapagos — Pinnacle Rock framed against turquoise waters. Descend to snorkel with Galapagos penguins in the bay below.
Day 2Friday
Mosquera Islet & North Seymour
Sea lion colony · Blue-footed boobies · Frigatebird courtship

Day 3Saturday
Genovesa — El Barranco & Darwin Bay
Storm petrels · Red-footed boobies · Caldera beach
Morning
El Barranco (Prince Philip's Steps) — a 1.5 km trail across a plateau where storm petrels gather, red-footed boobies nest in Palo Santo trees, and the elusive short-eared owl hunts in the Scalesia forest.

Afternoon
Santa Fe is one of the oldest islands in the archipelago, home to towering Opuntia cactus forests and the endemic pale-yellow Santa Fe land iguana. Snorkel with playful sea lions in the protected bay.

Morning
Gardner Bay is one of the finest white-sand beaches in the Galapagos. Share the beach with playful sea lion colonies and snorkel in crystal-clear turquoise waters alongside tropical fish and rays.

Suarez Point delivers one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles in the archipelago — nesting blue-footed and Nazca boobies, waved albatrosses performing elaborate courtship rituals, and blowholes shooting seawater high into the air along the rugged cliffs.
Day 4Thursday
Floreana — Cormorant Point, Champion Islet & Post Office Bay
Flamingo lagoon · Green sand beach · Postal tradition
Morning
Cormorant Point features a green-sand beach rich in olivine crystals and a "Flour Sand Beach" of fine white coral. Walk between them past a Greater Flamingo lagoon. Snorkel at Champion Islet — a pristine site with sea turtles, sea lions, and vibrant reef fish near the coral reef.
Afternoon
Post Office Bay preserves the 18th-century wooden barrel postal tradition — leave a letter and take one to deliver. A panga ride along the coast reveals rays, turtles, and coastal wildlife.
